Sixers select Hamilton, ship rights to Miami

PHILADELPHIA (AP) The 76ers have selected LSU center Justin Hamilton with the 45th pick in the NBA draft Thursday night.

Hamilton's rights will be sent to the NBA-champion Miami Heat along with a future first-round pick for the rights to Mississippi State forward Arnett Moultrie, who was taken at No. 27.

Hamilton, 7-feet and 260 pounds, spent two seasons with the Tigers after transferring from Iowa State as a sophomore. He started 32 of 33 games for LSU last season, averaging 12.9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game and was named a second-team All-SEC selection.
