Knicks' Shumpert injures left knee

MIAMI (AP) Knicks guard Iman Shumpert has been carried off the court by teammates after getting hurt Saturday with 6:04 left in the third quarter of Game 1 of the New York-Miami Eastern Conference playoff series.

Shumpert was bringing the ball up the right sideline and tried to dribble behind his back when he pulled up and immediately grabbed at his left knee before falling to the court in pain. The Knicks committed a foul to stop the clock, then called time as players and coaches surrounded Shumpert near midcourt.

He was brought into the Knicks' locker room for evaluation.

Shumpert was scoreless in 20 minutes of Game 1. He started the final 17 games of the regular season after New York guard Jeremy Lin went down with a knee injury.
