Analysis: Dudley played for Phoenix from the middle of the 2008-09 season through the 2012-13 campaign. He appeared in 81 games for the Wizards last season, averaging 7.9 points. Dudley was one of the NBA's top 3-point shooters, making 42 percent of his long-range shots.

The 30-year-old Dudley had a herniated disk repaired on Tuesday, less than two weeks after he was acquired in a trade with Milwaukee. The Wizards say he will begin a rehab program immediately.
Analysis: Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld says the team talked to Dudley and his agent, and "were made aware that he played with pain for a significant part of last season due to this injury." Dudley averaged 7.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 72 games with Milwaukee last season. He missed four games with lower back soreness. Washington obtained Dudley on July 9 in exchange for a protected future second-round pick.

Analysis: Dudley said during a conference call Friday that while he ''liked my situation in Milwaukee,'' he ''can't see a situation's that's better for me right now'' than with the Wizards.
