Analysis: Rondo's minutes have jumped from five to 14 to 25 in his three games back from sports hernia surgery, and he's 9 of 13 from the floor with 16 assists in that limited time. Though the 31-year-old hasn't been a reliable scorer in some time, he should remain a very good source of assists and steals going forward.

Analysis: Rondo was racking up the assists in his limited playing time and looked good in his second game back from sports hernia surgery. The veteran point guard still figures to be on a rather strict minutes limit over the next week or two, but holds plenty of promise in the Pelicans' free-wheeling offense.

Analysis: Rondo made his Pelicans debut following about a month of rehabilitation from surgery to repair a core muscle injury. He had two points and two assists in about five minutes in the first half. ''Adrenaline is still going, so of course I feel great. We'll see how my body responds'' Tuesday, Rondo said.

Analysis: After drawing little interest from teams needing a starting point guard, the 31-year-old heads to New Orleans to serve as a backup to Jrue Holiday. This will be the fifth team in four seasons for Rondo, who averaged 7.8 points and 6.7 assists for the Bulls in 2016-17 but stepped up his play in the playoffs. He averaged 11.5 points and 10 assists in leading Chicago to a pair of opening-round wins over the Celtics, then missed the rest of the series with a broken thumb.
