Analysis: Yet after watching the replay, he understands it sure looked like he did it on purpose - which is what Henderson thought. Varejao said it looked worse than it was. Portland coach Terry Stotts on Monday called it a "dirty play." Then Tuesday, the NBA ruled it a Flagrant 1 foul on Varejao.

Analysis: Varejao joined the team Monday in Atlanta after passing a physical, a day after he agreed to a contract with the defending champions for the rest of the season. Varejao is not active for Monday night's game against the Hawks.

Analysis: The veteran center briefly landed in Portland as part of the three-team deal in which the Cavaliers obtained Channing Frye from Orlando. Varejao, averaging just 2.6 points in 31 games this season, would have cost $9.3 million towards the 2016-17 salary cap if he remained on the roster.
