Analysis: The 35-year-old lands in a good spot, as the Pelicans were seeking additional help on the wing with Solomon Hill out for much of the upcoming season with a hamstring injury. Allen won't help New Orleans much from an outside shooting perspective, but remains one of the league's better perimeter defenders. The 13-year veteran was named to the All-NBA defensive second team last season, the sixth time in his career he's landed on the first or second team.
