Analysis: Williams' agency, Priority Sports, announced the agreement on Monday. Williams is coming off an up-and-down season with the Portland Trail Blazers, but the Timberwolves see the veteran combo guard as an ideal pairing with rookie Zach LaVine on the team's second unit. Williams averaged 9.7 points last season for his lowest total since his rookie year in 2003-04. He turns 32 in December.

Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts told reporters Friday he doesn't anticipate Williams will play. Earl Watson and Will Barton will come off the bench in his place.
Analysis: Williams, who provided a spark for the Blazers all season in backing up starting point guard Damian Lillard, played only 9 minutes in Portland's 114-97 loss in San Antonio on Thursday night. He is averaging 7.4 points and 23.4 minutes in the postseason.
