Analysis: The Nets have their point guard of the future in Devin Harris, so Alston will have to get accustomed to coming off the bench - something he hasn't done regularly since his 2003-04 season with Miami. While the Nets say they like what Alston brings to the club, they were largely motivated by his $5.25 million contract that ends after the upcoming season. Overall, this trade gives New Jersey about $18 million of salary cap relief going into the 2010-11 offseason. |
