Ferreira, Dallas defeat Union 1-0
Jesus Ferreira scored the only goal of the game and Maarten Paes made the saves to make it enough for Dallas to beat the Philadelphia Union 1-0 on Wednesday.
The Colombian-American striker's goal came in the 34th minute. Paul Arriola lavished a cross from the right flank for Ferreira to control with his left foot and finish with a right cross that beat goalkeeper Andre Blake.
Then, the Dutchman Paes contributed at least three good saves for the locals, who reached 42 points to be third in the Western Conference.
Union was left with 48 points, still leading the East. They will face bottom team DC United on Sunday.
Dallas will visit Nashville.
