Oakland A's sign 2nd-round pick Nolan Sanburn

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) The Oakland Athletics have agreed to terms with second-round pick Nolan Sanburn.

The right-hander taken out of Arkansas with the 74th overall pick received $710,000 under the deal announced Friday. The A's have signed 33 of their 43 picks.

Sanburn went 4-1 with a 2.43 ERA in 22 games for the Razorbacks. He struck out 49, walked 22 and didn't allow a home run in 40 2-3 innings coming mostly in relief. He had a team-leading eight saves.

The agreement came just before the 2 p.m. PDT deadline Friday. Oakland signed its top five picks and 12 of the first 13.

The A's also recalled reliever Pedro Figueroa from Triple-A Sacramento and placed right-hander Jim Miller on the paternity list before Friday's game against the Minnesota Twins.

Figueroa has a 1.50 ERA in nine games in two separate stints with the A's this season.

Miller, 2-1 with a 1.78 ERA in 19 appearances, can take up to three days of paternity leave.
