Royals claim catcher Adam Moore from Mariners
DETROIT (AP) The Kansas City Royals have claimed catcher Adam Moore on waivers from the Seattle Mariners.
Kansas City optioned Moore to Triple-A Omaha on Saturday.
Seattle designated the oft-injured Moore for assignment on July 1.
The 28-year-old Moore played in 68 games for the Mariners from 2009-11 with a .197 batting average, five homers and 17 RBIs. He has hit .209 with three home runs and 11 RBIs this season at Triple-A Tacoma.
