Beavan start pushed back 2 days to Tuesday
NEW YORK (AP) The Seattle Mariners are pushing back right-hander Blake Beavan's next start by two days until Tuesday at Boston.
Beavan was hit on the right arm Monday night by a line drive off the bat of Detroit's Miguel Cabrera, forcing him out of the game.
Manager Eric Wedge said Friday that Kevin Millwood will start Sunday's series finale at the New York Yankees and Jason Vargas will start the opener at Fenway Park.
Beavan likely will throw a bullpen session on Sunday. Wedge says the pitcher is feeling pretty good.
