Analysis: The right-hander was hurt by a pair of home runs but was otherwise solid again. With a 4-0 record and a 2.14 ERA over his last five starts, Roark should remain a solid play even in a tough upcoming matchup against Baltimore on Wednesday.

Analysis: It seems his previous performance, allowing five runs in five innings in a loss to San Diego, was an outlier. That poor outing included the only two home runs he's surrendered in his last seven games, a span in which Roark is 4-1 with a 2.49 ERA.
July 16 8:57 PM PT9:57 PM MT10:57 PM CT11:57 PM ET23:57 ET3:57 GMT11:57 8:57 PM MST10:57 PM EST11:27 PM VEN7:57 UAE (+1)10:57 PM CT-Roark turned in a brilliant effort in Saturday's 6-0 win over Pittsburgh, limiting the Pirates to five hits and a walk over eight-plus innings.
Analysis: He added a key RBI single during a three-run fourth inning as well. Often overlooked in Washington's star-studded rotation, Roark (9-5) has been consistently good throughout the season. Saturday's performance was his 12th quality start and lowered his ERA to 2.82.

Analysis: Coming off the shortest start in his four-year career - a clunker in Cincinnati in which he allowed five runs in three innings - the right-hander found his groove against the skidding Phillies. In three starts against Philadelphia this season, Roark is 2-0 with an 0.86 ERA.

Analysis: Roark (2-2) twice struck out the side and fanned at least two in four other innings. It was only the second time in 52 career starts the right-hander reached double digits in strikeouts - the other was on July 6, 2014, when he fanned 11 at San Diego.

Analysis: Baker said Roark, who'll be pitching on five days of rest, was notified Tuesday he was likely to take Strasburg's place. Roark endured an 85-minute rain delay in his first outing, giving up four runs and nine hits over four innings in a loss to Miami.
