Analysis: The left-hander, who turned 29 on New Year's Day, was 9-12 with a 4.55 ERA in 26 starts last year and won his third straight Gold Glove after going 20-8 with a career-best 2.48 ERA in 2015.

Keuchel is next scheduled to pitch Saturday against Tampa Bay. He's 0-4 with a 5.11 ERA in six starts against the Rays.

On May 2, Keuchel permitted five runs, seven hits and five walks in 4 1/3 innings of a 6-2 loss to Minnesota.
