Analysis: Doolittle was originally drafted as a first baseman in 2007 and batted .272 with 30 homers and 138 RBIs in 233 games before a knee injury derailed his career. He played just 29 games from 2009-11 and transitioned to pitching last year. He made his pro pitching debut Aug. 29 in the instructional league. Doolittle had a 0.72 ERA in 16 relief appearances with Class A Stockton, Double-A Midland and Sacramento. |
