Cashner struck out four, ending the game with a 3.54 ERA and 1.43 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: Cashner has an incredibly low 4.43 strikeouts per nine innings, so even though his ERA looks decent now, it's hard to believe that will continue.
|June 29 11:37 AM PT12:37 PM MT1:37 PM CT2:37 PM ET14:37 ET18:37 GMT2:37 11:37 AM MST1:37 PM EST2:07 PM VEN22:37 UAE1:37 PM CT-Cashner was struck on the right elbow by a broken bat Thursday against the Indians. Cashner was hit when Edwin Encarnacion broke his bat hitting an RBI single in the sixth inning. Cashner didn't appear to see the bat, which hit him directly on the elbow.
Analysis: Cashner went down on his knees behind the mound and held the elbow as manager Jeff Banister and a team trainer came out. He threw a warmup pitch and remained in the game. Jose Ramirez followed with a single. Cashner, making his first start since June 14 after being on the disabled list with a strained left oblique, was then removed. Cashner threw 81 pitches and was nearing the pitch limit Banister set before the game. He allowed five runs in five-plus innings.

Analysis: After recording a 2.45 ERA in his seven starts, Cashner has alternated good and bad performances in his last five. He has an 8.40 ERA, 2.20 WHIP and .391 opponents' batting average in losing three and a 1.29 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and .229 opponents' average in winning the other two. He makes his next start Tuesday against the Blue Jays, and Cashner was solid in Toronto four starts ago, allowing a run and five hits in seven innings of a 3-1 victory.

Cashner struck out two, ending the game with a 3.39 ERA and 1.42 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: Cashner matched his career high in hits allowed. "I thought I got the results I wanted," Cashner said. "I just didn't get the end result. For me, I'm not really too down. It's just keep making pitches, and I was one pitch away the whole inning from getting out if it and it just didn't happen to go that way." After a real nice stretch, Cashner has been pounded in two of his last three starts.

Analysis: Cashner has been excellent this season based on his ERA, though his FIP suggests that there's some regression in order. So does his strikeout (23) to walk (27) ratio.

Analysis: Cashner had come into the game on a good roll, having posted a 1.89 ERA over a string of three consecutive quality starts. He's also probably been a little bit lucky, as he's recorded more walks (25) than strikeouts (21) in 45 1/3 innings this season.

Cashner struck out two, ending the game with a 2.45 ERA and 1.34 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: The Rangers turned four double plays in the first five innings behind Cashner, who had gone winless in three previous home starts for Texas and seven appearances as an opponent in Houston over his eight-year career.

Analysis: Cashner continues to pitch well without being rewarded for it, as he remains winless through six starts while receiving only six runs of support. The right-hander does draw a potentially profitable matchup when the Phillies visit Arlington on Thursday.

Cashner struck out two, ending the game with a 2.95 ERA and 1.50 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: The right-hander was again victimized by a Texas offense that's mustered a mere two runs with him on the mound during his four starts. After allowing three earned runs over 5 1/3 innings in his season debut against Seattle - the team he'll face Sunday - Cashner has posted a solid 2.25 ERA over his last three outings.

Analysis: Cashner has walked 13 and fanned eight in 15 1/3 innings while going 0-2 in his three starts. It hasn't helped that the Rangers have yet to score a run while he's been on the mound.
|Apr. 21 9:00 AM PT10:00 AM MT11:00 AM CT12:00 PM ET12:00 ET16:00 GMT0:00 9:00 AM MST11:00 AM EST11:30 AM VEN20:00 UAE11:00 AM CT-Cashner held the Royals to three hits over six scoreless innings while not receiving a decision in Thursday's start.
Analysis: The right-hander exited with the game still scoreless and did issue four walks, though his performance was still a nice upgrade from last weekend's season debut in which he allowed three earned runs in 5 1/3 innings in a loss at Seattle. Cashner will have some momentum heading into Tuesday's meeting with visiting Minnesota.

Analysis: He only struck out two and walked three, so the Rangers are hoping for more from Cashner as he gets more acclimated to the rotation.
|Mar. 9 8:39 AM PT9:39 AM MT10:39 AM CT11:39 AM ET11:39 ET16:39 GMT0:39 9:39 AM MST11:39 AM EST12:09 PM VEN20:39 UAE10:39 AM CT-Cashner will make his season debut Saturday at Seattle.
Analysis: The offseason addition missed a good deal of the spring with biceps soreness, but was declared good to go after throwing 76 pitches Monday in an extended spring training game. Cashner gets a favorable spot for his Rangers debut, as the Mariners have been struggling at the plate.
