Analysis: Kansas City optioned Moore to Triple-A Omaha on Saturday. Seattle designated the oft-injured Moore for assignment on July 1. The 28-year-old Moore played in 68 games for the Mariners from 2009-11 with a .197 batting average, five homers and 17 RBIs. He has hit .209 with three home runs and 11 RBIs this season at Triple-A Tacoma. |

However, he arrived at the Reds' facility in Peoria, Ariz., in pain. X-rays were taken and revealed the injury. He will be placed in a cast and his timetable for a return will be determined after he sees a hand specialist. It's another stroke of bad luck for Moore, who missed most of last season after suffering a torn meniscus in his right knee. Moore played in just two games in 2011. |
