Analysis: Cecil gave up eight runs and 10 hits, including three homers. Making his third start of the season, Cecil is 1-1 with a 6.06 ERA. He had allowed three runs in his previous two starts, spanning 11 innings. He'll try to bounce back against the Royals next week.

Analysis: Starting for the first time this season after being promoted from Triple-A Las Vegas last week, the left-handed Cecil (1-0) allowed two runs and five hits in five innings. He walked one and struck out five. Cecil went 4-11 in 20 starts last season, then struggled with command and velocity this spring after losing more than 30 pounds in offseason conditioning. He was demoted to Double-A on the final day of spring training, one day after a rough outing against Detroit.

Analysis: Cecil was sent down to Double-A New Hampshire on Tuesday. Righty Roberto Coello was promoted from the minors to be part of Toronto's rotation. The Blue Jays said righty Kyle Drabek had the fifth starting spot. Left-hander Aaron Laffey was moved to Triple-A Las Vegas. Cecil was tagged for nine runs in the first two innings Monday against Detroit. Cecil had a 6.48 ERA in exhibitions this year and was 4-11 with a 4.73 ERA last season.
