Analysis: Cervelli was holding his throwing hand just above his knee when Rajai Davis fouled a pitch from Ivan Nova straight back. Cervelli immediately looked at his hand and flexed it several times. Manager Joe Girardi and a trainer checked out Cervelli before Girardi waved to the bullpen for backup catcher Chris Stewart. |

Analysis: The Miami New Times reported last month that Cervelli's teammate, Alex Rodriguez, bought human growth hormone and other performance-enhancing substances in recent years from Biogenesis, a now-closed clinic in Coral Cables near the three-time AL MVP's offseason home. Cervelli says he has not talked about Biogenesis with Rodriguez. |
