Harrison threw six strikes among 11 pitches to four batters. He allowed one hit, a single up the middle by Mike Moustakas.
Analysis: He has been slowed this spring training by a back problem. He received a nerve-block injection on the right side of his neck on Feb. 24, but was cleared for his back issue. Harrison won 18 games and was an All-Star in 2012, then got a $55 million, five-year contract. He had never had any back issues before last spring training, and still made his first two scheduled starts. After going 0-2 with an 8.44 ERA, Harrison got two epidural injections and a second opinion before two operations in a matter of weeks.

Assistant general manager Thad Levine said Monday that the report was about as good as the team could have gotten.
Analysis: Harrison was scratched from two throwing sessions last week after experiencing stiffness in his neck and back. He then returned to Texas to visit the doctor who last year did two operations for a herniated disk in his lower back. The plan is for Harrison to resume cardio and conditioning Wednesday, and play catch the following day. Levine says it's not clear how far behind Harrison is, but acknowledged it's unlikely he'll be ready for the start of the regular season in five weeks.

The left-hander, who hasn't thrown in a week because of stiffness in his neck and back, just hopes things are different from last season. He started the opener last year, but then made only one more start.
Analysis: Even though Harrison is feeling much better after switching beds, he was still returning to Texas to be examined by the specialist who did both operations last year for a herniated disk in his lower back. Harrison won 18 games and was an All-Star in 2012, then got a $55 million, five-year contract. After going 0-2 with an 8.44 ERA, Harrison got two epidural injections and a second opinion before two operations in a matter of weeks.
