|July 28 8:23 AM PT9:23 AM MT10:23 AM CT11:23 AM ET11:23 ET15:23 GMT23:23 8:23 AM MST10:23 AM EST10:53 AM VEN19:23 UAE10:23 AM CT-Price has been scratched from Friday's scheduled start against Kansas City and placed on the 10-day disabled list with inflammation in his left elbow. The Red Sox will move Rick Porcello up a day to start in Price's place.
Analysis: Price underwent an MRI on Thursday, the results of which have not been revealed. The five-time All-Star missed the season's first two months with an elbow strain but seemed to have put the injury behind him by posting a 2.52 ERA in four July starts. Though it's hard to say how much time he'll miss, expect Price out until at least September. The injury may also impact the Red Sox's plans at the trade deadline, as they weren't believed to be targeting starting pitching.

Price struck out five, ending the game with a 3.82 ERA and 1.27 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: Price came in 2-0 with a spectacular 0.90 ERA through his first three starts of July, but couldn't sustain that level of excellence while being dealt a second loss to the Angels this season. The well-paid lefty will try to bounce back in Friday's meeting with the visiting Royals, and he sports a solid 2.67 ERA at home in 2017.

I can throw the baseball better. That's the bottom line.'' He'll make his next start Saturday against the Angels.
