Analysis: Braden was carrying a baseball bat and began yelling at the city's police chief about Stockton's crime woes at Wednesday's rally. At one point, Chief Eric Jones told Braden he would be escorted out if he didn't wait his turn to speak. Stockton filed for bankruptcy earlier this year and has experienced a surge in homicides. Braden later told CBS-13 he was recently attacked in his car, and his grandmother was robbed.

Analysis: Manager Bob Melvin says Braden received the shot during Monday's examination in New York with Dr. David Altchek - who performed his procedure last May 17 - and will be limited to strengthening exercises and rehab until he is cleared to resume his throwing program. Braden had initially hoped to return to the A's revamped rotation by early May before suffering his latest setback last week.
