Olson was designated for assignment Saturday, leaving rookie Josh Edgin as the only lefty in New York's bullpen. Santana was reinstated from the 15-day disabled list to start against the Atlanta Braves. Analysis: Called up from Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday, Olson was ineffective against Miami in his lone outing for the Mets. He was charged with four runs, three hits and a walk while getting only one out. The Mets have 10 days to trade, release or send Olson outright to the minors. |
