Gallardo struck out four, ending the game with a 5.84 ERA and 1.50 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: Gallardo is the one remaining member from Seattle's projected opening day starting rotation that's not on the disabled list. But Saturday was one of the worst performances of his career. The nine earned runs were the most allowed by Gallardo since the 2009 season when he was pitching with Milwaukee. In five starts at home this season, Gallardo has allowed 21 earned runs in 27 innings pitched.

Gallardo struck out five, ending the game with a 4.53 ERA and 1.38 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: "Gallardo had his best fastball all year," manager Scott Servais said. The right-hander has given up no more than three runs and four hits in three straight starts.

Analysis: Opponents are batting just .209 off Gallardo in his last four starts as he's posted a respectable 3.47 ERA. However, he's not a good fantasy play considering his walk-to-strikeout ratio this year is far from enticing (15 BBs, 27 Ks).

Analysis: Gallardo does continue to give the Mariners innings, having worked at least six frames in four straight starts. He's been considerably better over his last three, compiling a 1-1 record with a 2.95 ERA and logging 17 strikeouts during that period.

Analysis: A move to the more pitcher-friendly conditions of Safeco Field hasn't benefited Gallardo so far, as he's allowed eight runs in 11 innings over his first two home starts with his new team. The declining veteran will be a high-risk option when he faces Oakland on the road Sunday.

Analysis: Gallardo seemed to be in trouble all night, as the Angels had at least one baserunner in all but one inning against him. Manager Scott Servais, though, said he saw some good in his right-hander. "I thought his stuff was very good," he said. "His fastball was crisp, had some good life to it. He threw some good breaking balls. He was behind in the count in some innings, but kind of navigated his way through trouble. I was happy with the way he threw the ball."
