Analysis: Baltimore manager Buck Showalter says the pitcher twisted his ankle in a parking lot a couple days ago. Jimenez last pitched Saturday in Boston. He was scheduled to pitch against the New York Yankees on Saturday, but will be replaced by either Chris Tillman or Kevin Gausman.

Jimenez (1-4) allowed only three hits while taking a significant step forward from five rough starts to begin his $50 million, four-year contract with the Orioles. Jimenez dropped his ERA from 6.59 to 5.19, after leaving with one out in the eighth following Eduardo Escobar's double.

In order to sign the 30-year-old right-hander, Baltimore must give up its first-round draft choice, the 17th pick overall, in June's draft.
Analysis: Jimenez is expected to join the Orioles' starting staff, which includes Chris Tillman, Wei-Yin Chen, Miguel Gonzalez and Bud Norris. Last season, Jimenez went 13-9 with a 3.30 ERA for the Indians. His best year came in 2010 when he was 19-8 with a 2.88 ERA for Colorado and was the NL starter in the All-Star Game.
