Hampson joined the team and will be available for Monday night's series opener against the Chicago Cubs. Analysis: Hampson was 4-2 with two saves and a 2.13 ERA with Buffalo. The 32-year-old last pitched in a big league game on Sept. 28, 2008 with the San Diego Padres. Manager Terry Collins said the move will add depth to the bullpen by allowing southpaw Tim Byrdak to be saved for "key situations." |
