Analysis: The 37-year-old Rodriguez was 6-4 with a 4.90 ERA for Texas last season. He pitched in parts of eight big league seasons with Houston and went 80-84.

He was competing with Eric Stults for the final starting slot in Atlanta's rotation and was 2-0 with a 3.13 ERA in six exhibition starts.
