Analysis: The Nationals said Tuesday that Wang has a strained right hip. His move to the DL is retroactive to July 1. He is 2-3 with a 7.61 ERA in seven games this season and recently lost his spot in the starting rotation to Ross Detwiler. Wang also missed the first 42 games of the season with a left hamstring injury. |

The pitcher's leg went up in the air and was hit by Martin, who was running up the line. Wang walked off the field under his own power. The right-hander spent five years with the Yankees and won 19 games in 2006 and 2007. |
