He missed the first 26 games because of offseason surgery on his right ankle. Young homered in his first at-bat. Analysis: Young is batting fifth and is the designated hitter Tuesday against Cleveland. Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said Young, who primarily was a designated hitter last season with Detroit, likely will play right field Wednesday in the finale of the two-game series. Young, who had the surgery in November, completed a minor league rehabilitation assignment in which he hit .367 with no homers and two RBIs. He played right field in those games. |
