Analysis: The 35-year-old Bell has 151 saves the past four seasons. He signed a $27 million, three-year contract with Miami last offseason but lost his closer's job in July. He finished with 19 saves in 27 chances and a 5.09 ERA in in 73 games.

Analysis: Manager Ozzie Guillen says Bell has pitched well enough in a reduced role to warrant another shot at the ninth inning. The three-time All-Star signed a $27 million, three-year contract with Miami last December but had struggled so badly in his first season with Miami that he was replaced as the team's closer.

Analysis: Pitching earlier in the game, Bell has yielded only three hits over nine scoreless innings in his last 10 appearances. He is 2-5 with a 5.36 ERA and 19 saves in 25 opportunities.

May 26 3:27 PM PT4:27 PM MT5:27 PM CT6:27 PM ET18:27 ET22:27 GMT6:27 CST3:27 PM MST5:27 PM EST5:57 PM VEN2:27 UAE (+1)5:27 PM CT-Bell blew another save Friday night, and the Miami Marlins held on to beat the San Francisco Giants 7-6. Bell entered in the ninth with a three-run lead but drew boos when he gave up three hits. Manager Ozzie Guillen yanked him with one out, runners at second and third and the Marlins clinging to a 7-5 lead.
Analysis: "I had a gut feeling he's not throwing well,'' Guillen said. "He gets paid to close games, I get paid to win games. It's a very hard, uncomfortable move. Your closer is your closer, but from the beginning I didn't feel comfortable with it. I needed a different look. But he's going to be back there as my closer tomorrow.''

Analysis: Bell blew his fourth save in seven opportunities Friday night when he allowed the San Diego Padres to tie the score at 8-all with a run in the ninth. The Marlins signed Bell to a three-year, $27-million deal in the offseason.

Analysis: Bell never recorded an out after facing three batters with a two-run lead in the ninth inning. The All-Star closer has been anything but sharp for the rebranded Marlins. ``Didn't have it tonight,'' Bell said. ``Ozzie (Guillen) made a good decision and it worked out for us."

Analysis: Bell recorded his third save in six chances and first since walking a career-high four batters and taking his third loss Thursday in a 3-2 road loss to the Mets. "Plain and simple, it shows the confidence that Ozzie (Guillen) and the coaching staff have that it will turn around for me,'' Bell said. ``I think that's why they put me out there.''

Analysis: Yet, as Guillen says he will do at every position on his underachieving club, he will consider a change soon if Bell doesn't get back on track. The burly right-hander is 0-3 with a 10.80 ERA with two saves in eight appearances spanning 6 2-3 innings. He was tagged for two runs in a non-save situation in the ninth inning of Miami's 9-5 home loss to the Diamondbacks on Monday.

Analysis: Bell (0-2), booed when he departed after retiring only two of the seven batters he faced, blew a save for the second time in as many chances.

Analysis: "My job is to save games, and I didn't do it,'' Bell said. "I need to earn the respect from these guys. I need to be more accountable. I didn't make a pitch when I needed to make a pitch.''
