Analysis: Wolf, who was in camp on a minor-league deal after missing last season following Tommy John surgery, told reporters Tuesday that he was told he had a spot. But Wolf's concern was whether he would be with the team beyond the first 45 days with two members of Seattle's rotation - Hisashi Iwakuma and Taijuan Walker - not expected to be ready until late April. Wolf said he was asked to sign a waiver allowing the team to release him within the first 45 days without paying his full season salary. He declined to do so.

Analysis: Wolf did not pitch in 2013 after having Tommy John surgery in late October 2012, the second such surgery of his career. Wolf's last major-league season came in 2012 when he made 26 starts with Milwaukee and Baltimore. Wolf has also pitched for Philadelphia, the Dodgers, San Diego and Houston.
