Analysis: Betancourt, 40, was 2-4 with one save and a 6.18 ERA in 45 appearances this season. He joined the Rockies in a trade with Cleveland in 2009 and helped the team reach the playoffs that season. Betancourt didn't pitch in 2014 after undergoing Tommy John surgery in September 2013. He signed a minor league contract with Colorado in January and made the team out of spring training.

Analysis: Betancourt was 2-2 with a 6.30 ERA before going on the DL with symptoms of vertigo. To make room on the roster, the Rockies sent right-hander Justin Miller to Triple-A Albuquerque. Miller was 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA.

Analysis: Betancourt said he's been dealing with a sinus infection for the last few weeks and hasn't been able to shake it. He's struggled in his last two outings, surrendering seven runs in 1 2-3 innings. The right-hander approached manager Walt Weiss over the weekend and told Weiss that he needed a break to get healthy.

Analysis: Betancourt was Colorado's closer in 2013 when he tore the ulnar collateral ligament. The right-hander rehabbed all of last season and accepted a non-roster invite to camp this spring. Despite a scary moment when he was hit by a line drive in the jaw, Betancourt has a 1.04 ERA in nine appearances.
