The trade was completed shortly before the Indians started a three-game series against intrastate rival Cincinnati on Tuesday. A roster move will be made when Rogers joins the team. Analysis: Rogers went 0-2 with an 8.06 ERA in 23 appearances for Colorado this season. The Rockies were out of options on the 26-year-old pitcher. He'll join a bullpen that ranks third-to-last in the AL with a 4.05 ERA. The Indians also designated catcher Luke Carlin for assignment to open a spot on the 40-man roster. |
