Southampton-Leicester City Preview

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has reiterated that defender Wesley Fofana is "not for sale" as Chelsea reportedly remain keen to secure his services.

The 21-year-old centre-back has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge after missing out on Jules Kounde, who joined Barcelona.

The Foxes are said to have rejected two bids from Chelsea and it has been suggested that a world-record fee for a defender may be required to prise him away from the King Power Stadium.

That record currently stands at £80 million, which Leicester received from Manchester United for the signature of Harry Maguire.

Fofana has played in Leicester's opening two league games of the Premier League season, and Rodgers expects him to stay at the club.

"The idea is that he's still very much a Leicester City player," Rodgers told reporters. "I've said a number of times that he's not for sale.

"The club have made that clear so unless anything changes, I would expect him to be here."

Fofana is one of a number of players linked with a move away from Leicester, with midfielders Youri Tielemans and James Maddison linked with Arsenal and Newcastle United respectively.

On Friday, reports emerged that Maddison was in talks over a new deal, though it was then suggested Fofana had asked to be left out against Southampton on Saturday.

Southampton fought back to draw 2-2 with Leeds United last week, and Ralph Hasenhuttl is confident his squad is coming together.

"We know we need to do more there. We must show our fans from the first moment that we are willing to show a different face.

"New players are coming in, and with every session and every day we are sitting together, working together, this becomes a unit and this is good."

Leicester City - James Maddison

James Maddison has either scored or assisted a goal in each of his last six Premier League appearances, scoring five and assisting four. Since the start of last season, no English midfielder has been involved in more Premier League goals than Maddison (22 - 13 goals, nine assists).

Southampton - James Ward-Prowse

Against no side has Southampton's James Ward-Prowse scored more Premier League goals than he has against Leicester (four), with three of his four against them coming from the penalty spot.

- Jamie Vardy has been involved in nine goals in 15 Premier League appearances against Southampton, scoring six and assisting three. However, only one of his six strikes against them has come at the King Power Stadium.

- Ayoze Perez has scored nine goals in 13 Premier League appearances against Southampton, three times as many as he has netted against another opponent.

- Jamie Vardy has been involved in nine goals in 15 Premier League appearances against Southampton, scoring six and assisting three. However, only one of his six strikes against them has come at the King Power Stadium.

- Both Leicester and Southampton have conceded six Premier League goals this season, with no side shipping more. They have both had defeats where they've conceded four goals, as well as both being involved in a 2-2 draw.

- Leicester have lost just one of their last 10 Premier League home games (W5 D4), going down 2-1 against Everton in May.
