AP Pro32 comments about Dolphins
NEW YORK (AP) Comments on the Miami Dolphins by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
Chris Berman (ESPN, 31) - Should have beaten Jets.
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 27) - Dan Carpenter's missed field goals ruined what would have been a nice Week 3 win.
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 19) - Comment currently unavailable
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 29) - Had so many chances to put away the Jets and just couldn't get it done.
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 31) - Not quite the followup to last week's romp over Oakland the Dolphins had wanted. Miami's defense looks solid most of the way, but wilts at the end of an ugly OT loss to the Jets.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 31) - Rookie QB Ryan Tannehill has only one TD to show for his first 102 NFL passes.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 29) - If Dan Carpenter makes one of two field goals, the Dolphins are 2-1. But they're not, and they're not for a reason: They're just not very good.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 23) - They can run and they can stop the run.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 25) - The Dolphins are a tough out because of their defense and a healthy Reggie Bush. In the end they don't have enough firepower yet to win a lot of games.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 30) - Tough and hard fought loss to the Jets and now they sit at the bottom of their division with the Patriots?
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 25) - Dan Carpenter blew the game by missing two field goals, but a 23-20 overtime loss to the New York Jets was another reminder of how insufficient the Dolphins are at wide receiver and cornerback.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 30) - Losing to the Jets was discouraging, but Ryan Tannehill's pluckiness has been encouraging.
