AP Pro32 comments about Eagles
NEW YORK (AP) Comments on the Philadelphia Eagles by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
Chris Berman (ESPN, 4) - Nine turnovers, two one-point wins magic.
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 12) - Somehow, they are 2-0 with nine turnovers. At least Michael Vick is closing games well.
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 4) - Winning the close games they lost last year.
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 8) - Despite six INT's and three fumbles, Vick and the Eagles are 2-0. Go figure.
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 7) - The wins are fine, but the turnovers aren't. There have been nine so far for Michael Vick's offense.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 3) - Eagles have the NFL's top offense and a 2-0 record to show for it.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 5) - Imagine what happens if/when these guys figure out how to hold on to the football. They have nine turnovers, yet they're unbeaten. That's not supposed to happen, but this team has the talent - and the defense - to overcome mistakes.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 5) - So talented, so sloppy, so fortunate.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 8) - Michael Vick got a big win over Baltimore and the Eagles are back in the race as a top 10 team if the QB can stay healthy. Eagle fans have to keep their fingers crossed that the small receivers can stay healthy as well. Offensive line injuries are now a concern.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 8) - The Eagles have won two games by a total of 2 points. Bottom line is that they are 2-O and their defense is legit. To stay up here they have to eliminate the turnovers!
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 5) - Nine turnovers in two games should translate to an 0-2 record, Instead, a much-improved defense has carried the Eagles to consecutive one-point victories.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 4) - Beating the Ravens showed they are for real. But unless they stop giving the ball away they won't keep winning.
