AP Pro32 comments about Jets
NEW YORK (AP) Comments on the New York Jets by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
Chris Berman (ESPN, 15) - Angry Steelers too much.
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 19) - Steelers brought them back down to earth. Questions about their offense remain.
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 13) - Steelers defense brought the Jets high flying offense back to earth.
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 14) - They have their issues but still a playoff caliber team.
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 16) - Rex Ryan's getting tired of questions about Tim Tebow, and it's only Week 3. Maybe if Tebow had been allowed to play a bit more against the Steelers, the storyline would be different.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 14) - Without CB Darrelle Revis, the Jets are a pedestrian defensive team.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 20) - They're not as good as they looked in Week 1, and they're not as bad as they looked in the second half vs. Pittsburgh. So what exactly are they? A club in search of an identity, thats' what.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 21) - Even Rex Ryan couldn't spin that beatdown at Heinz Field.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 14) - Sanchez can be just like Alex Smith is for San Francisco as long as the defense plays like the Niners.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 20) - The Jets hung in with the Steelers early and then were dominated. Can they bounce back?
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 18) - Is it Tebow time yet? With starting quarterback Mark Sanchez completing just three of 17 passes during one stretch, the Jets could have used Tim Tebow to spruce up an uninspiring offensive effort in Sunday's 27-10 loss to Pittsburgh.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 21) - It may not be Tebow time yet, but the Jets might need something to spice up the offense soon.
