Ex-Jet Cotchery likes 'family' feel of Steelers
By DENNIS WASZAK Jr.
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) Jerricho Cotchery says he enjoys the "family business" approach the Pittsburgh Steelers take with their players, and has no regrets about how his tenure with the New York Jets ended last summer.
The veteran wide receiver spent his first seven NFL seasons with the Jets, but was cut last year in a move coach Rex Ryan said at the time Cotchery requested. Cotchery, in a conference call Wednesday with New York-area reporters, says he doesn't think "anyone really knows everything that transpired between myself and the Jets," but didn't elaborate.
Cotchery signed with Pittsburgh after being cut, and acknowledged that he spoke to the Jets about a return this offseason as a free agent, but says "I wouldn't necessarily say it was close."
