OXNARD, Calif. (AP) Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett has no problem with Jerry Jones' emphatic comments about the NFC East-rival New York Giants, who are the defending Super Bowl champions.

During a ceremony opening the Cowboys' camp in California, Jones told about 5,000 fans that they should come to Cowboys Stadium and "watch us beat the Giants' (butts)."

That drew a large cheer.

When asked about the comment Tuesday, Garrett said Jones has owned the team for 23 years, "so he can do anything he wants."

Then Garrett was given a chance to make a similar statement.

Garrett says he is not making any guarantees, and that the Cowboys are working hard to put a great team together.

Dallas opens the season on the road against the Giants. New York will play at Cowboys Stadium on Oct. 28.
