AP Pro32 comments about Chiefs

NEW YORK (AP) Comments on the Kansas City Chiefs by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 6): Crazy AFC West. Chiefs and Cassel play well.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 14): KC fans booed Matt Cassel at recent team function, but we get sense there'll be more cheers with bounce-back season we see for Chiefs.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 15): This young defense has a chance to be special.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 15): There's legitimate reason Chiefs expressed interest in signing Peyton Manning. Matt Cassel is in make-or-break season under center after poor 2011.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 15): Chiefs were wrecked by injuries in 2011 and should have strong bounce-back year.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 18): Chiefs get some major "juice" and playmaking ability back with return of RB Jamaal Charles, S Eric Berry and TE Tony Moeaki. QB Matt Cassel needs to return to solid form of 2010.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 19): Three first-round picks on defensive line and they need to play better. Offense will be fine if Chiefs can stay healthy.

Chris Berman (ESPN, 20): Healthy now, maybe 2010 wasn't fluke.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 20): If Jamaal Charles, Eric Berry, and Tony Moeaki are healthy, look out.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 20): Chiefs have problem: worst quarterbacking in AFC West with Matt Cassel going against Rivers, Manning and Palmer.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 21): A healthy Jamaal Charles will improve offense, but Matt Cassel will only take Chiefs so far.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 21): Waiting to see which Matt Cassel shows up.
