Schiano finally gets look at Bucs in full gear

By FRED GOODALL

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) A little more than six months after leaving Rutgers to take over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Greg Schiano is finally getting a close-up view of his new team in pads.

The first-time NFL head coach liked what he saw Sunday, even if the club's first training camp workout in full gear wasn't pretty at times.

While Schiano and his players welcomed the first contact drills in preparation for the upcoming season, the coach stressed that to improve on last year's 4-12 finish the Bucs have to curtail penalties, missed assignments and turnovers, especially fumbles.
