Seattle takes Sweezy, Scruggs with final 2 picks
RENTON, Wash. (AP) The Seattle Seahawks have closed out the 2012 NFL draft by selecting North Carolina State defensive tackle J.R. Sweezy and Louisville defensive end Greg Scruggs with a pair of seventh-round picks on Saturday. `
Sweezy was selected with pick No. 225, while Scruggs was taken with the 232nd overall pick.
Sweezy played in 35 games in his career at defensive tackle at N.C. State. His best season was his junior year where Sweezy had six sacks and 13 tackles for loss. But the Seahawks have informed him they plan to switch him to the offensive line and try him out at guard.
Scruggs played both defensive end and defensive tackle for the Cardinals. He was suspended for the bowl game last season after he was arrested for driving under the influence.
