Redskins draft SMU CB Richard Crawford
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) The Redskins have stuck with their Texas theme and selected SMU cornerback Richard Crawford with the first of their two seventh-round selections.
The 5-foot-11, 191-pound Crawford was a college teammate of guard Josh LeRiebus, Washington's third-round pick this year, and Aldrick Robinson, one of the Redskins selections in last year's sixth round.
Crawford, a two-year starter who had previously played for Saddleback Community College, will have the chance to compete for a reserve job behind starters DeAngelo Hall and Josh Wilson.
