Analysis: Hoyer suffered the injury in the second quarter of Thursday night's 26-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers when he was hit by linebackers Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers on a third-down pass attempt. Hoyer recorded 300-plus passing yards with no interceptions in each of his previous four starts - a first in Bears history.

Analysis: Hoyer has now thrown for 1,017 yards with six TDs and no picks in three starts, only adding to a soon-to-be quarterback controversy in Chicago. Coach John Fox wouldn't comment on the situation on Monday.
|Oct. 2, 20164:26 PM PT5:26 PM MT6:26 PM CT7:26 PM ET23:26 GMT7:26 AM 北京时间4:26 PM MST6:26 PM EST6:26 PM CT3:26 UAE (+1)19:26 ET22:26 - Hoyer helped the Bears to their first win of 2016 by throwing for 302 yards and two touchdowns Sunday against the Lions. The well-traveled quarterback completed a sharp 28-of-36 passes and did not throw an interception.
Analysis: Hoyer showed the Bears' offense is in good hands with a second straight 300-yard effort in place of an ailing Jay Cutler. After putting forth such a solid performance on Sunday, it would be surprising if Chicago rushed Cutler back from his thumb injury and Hoyer wasn't again under center next week in Indianapolis.

Analysis: Hoyer is more than a serviceable backup for the injured Jay Cutler and could be used in a fantasy pinch if needed.

Analysis: The Texans announced the move Tuesday, little more than a month after signing Brock Osweiler to a four-year, $72 million contract. Houston also released quarterback B.J. Daniels. Hoyer signed a two-year contract before last season, but his five-turnover debacle in a 30-0 playoff loss to Kansas City suggested his days in Houston were numbered.
