Analysis: Sanchez came through with just the sort of performance he needed if he's going to beat out Trevor Siemian. He completed 10 of 13 passes in the first quarter and led a game-opening 76-yard touchdown drive. He was intercepted by Jerrell Freeman on the Broncos' second possession.

Analysis: The Broncos created a mild controversy by naming Sanchez and the unproven Trevor Siemian as co-No. 1s when they released their depth chart Monday. Sanchez still remains the favorite to start Week 1 for the defending Super Bowl champs.

Analysis: Sanchez tore a thumb ligament on his non-throwing hand on May 13 and underwent surgery 48 hours later. He was originally expected to miss the start of organized team activities this week, which might have stalled his quest to win the starting job ahead of first-round draft pick Paxton Lynch and second-year pro Trevor Siemian. Instead, he led the way during individual and 7-on-7 drills before giving way to Lynch and Siemian during the team periods.

Analysis: Sanchez said at his introductory news conference Monday that his aim is to start for the Broncos no matter which other quarterbacks general manager John Elway might bring in. Sanchez said he was shocked when the Broncos obtained him in a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles, but that he's excited for the chance to start again.
