Analysis: Williams' status was uncertain after he missed all of the team's spring practices while still recuperating from back surgery in October. Though the Bills medical staff was monitoring his progress, Williams did not report to the team's facility until the start of a mandatory minicamp last month. The Bills were counting on Williams to fill a starting spot when they signed the free agent to a four-year contract in March 2014.

Whaley says Williams is expected to report for the team's mandatory three-day minicamp next week. That's when Williams will be evaluated to determine whether he'll be ready for the start of training camp next month.
Analysis: Williams started the first three games at left guard last season after being signed to a four-year contract in free agency. He was then sidelined and had surgery in October.
