Analysis: Schouman was injured Thursday during Buffalo's 34-21 preseason win over the Indianapolis Colts. The extent of Schouman's injury was announced a day after fellow tight end Shawn Nelson was suspended by the NFL for four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy. With Michael Matthews and Jonathan Stupar the only healthy tight ends on the roster, general manager Buddy Nix is exploring all options at the position, coach Chan Gailey said.

Analysis: Coach Chan Gailey provided that assessment following a 34-21 preseason victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night in Toronto. Schouman, who's been limited by injuries for part of training camp, was hurt early in the second quarter on a play in which quarterback Trent Edwards scrambled for 3 yards. It's unclear which knee Schouman hurt. It's the latest setback for Schouman, who finished last season on injured reserve after hurting his right knee in Week 2.
