To make room on the roster, the team placed defensive end Chike Okeafor on injured reserve and released tight end rookie Ben Patrick. Analysis: Moses was Oakland's third-round draft pick this year out of Georgia, but was released when the Raiders made cuts to a 53-man roster on Saturday. Moses had 21 tackles and 12 assists with 4.5 sacks in 13 games as a senior for Georgia. He had 11.5 sacks during his junior year. |

Analysis: Moses, the first pick of the third round, was competing for the starting right defensive end spot until late in the preseason. Tommy Kelly won the job when he moved from tackle after the Raiders acquired Gerard Warren from Denver and fifth-rounder Jay Richardson beat Moses out for the backup role. |
