Oct. 23 2:14 PM PT3:14 PM MT4:14 PM CT5:14 PM ET21:14 GMT5:14 AM 北京时间2:14 PM MST4:14 PM EST4:14 PM CT1:14 UAE (+1)17:14 ET19:14 - Woodley has a serious biceps injury and could miss the remainder of the season. Woodley has not practiced since getting injured in Sunday's 24-13 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Interim coach Tony Sparano wouldn't discuss the specific nature of Woodley's situation but acknowledged it is a long-term injury.
Analysis: The 29-year-old was one of the Raiders' prized acquisitions this past offseason. Woodley and fellow defensive end Justin Tuck were signed to lucrative deals as part of general manager Reggie McKenzie's plan to bring in veterans with championship experience. Woodley has five tackles in six games and is without a sack. Tuck has 12 tackles and one sack but has been slowed by a knee injury.
Mar. 11 12:50 PM PT1:50 PM MT2:50 PM CT3:50 PM ET19:50 GMT3:50 AM 北京时间12:50 PM MST2:50 PM EST1:50 PM CT23:50 UAE15:50 ET18:50 - The Pittsburgh Steelers released linebacker LaMarr Woodley on Tuesday, with a post-June 1 designation to save money under the salary cap. By postponing the move until after June 1, the Steelers free up about $8 million in salary cap space in 2014. The money saved will likely go toward signing the team's selections in the NFL draft in May. Woodley will, however, count $8.5 million against the team's cap number in 2015.
Analysis: Selected by the Steelers in the second round (46th overall) of the 2007 draft out of Michigan, Woodley signed a six-year, $61.5 million contract in 2011, but has struggled to remain healthy. He missed at least three games in each of the last three seasons as hamstring and other lower body issues kept him sidelined for long stretches.
