The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Tuesday because the transaction hadn't been announced.
Analysis: Re-signing Tulloch was one of the Lions' top priorities this offseason. They extended Calvin Johnson's contract, retained Cliff Avril with a franchise tag and re-signed Jeff Backus and Shaun Hill. The only player Detroit wanted back that won't return is cornerback Eric Wright. Tulloch made a team-high 111 tackles with the Lions after signing a one-year deal last summer. He led Tennessee in tackles the previous two years after being drafted by the Titans in 2006.
